For more than ten years, ALVA has been producing braille displays under the
name ALVA Braille Terminal or, in short, ABT. The current ABT3 series has

Touch cursors
Depending on the model selected from the ABT3 series, you can read twenty,
forty or eighty characters on your screen. User ease is greatly expanded with
touch cursors. This application allows you to make both quick and precise use of
the cursor and mouse. When a typing error is detected during the reading of a
text, you can easily position the cursor at the relevant position with the aid
of the touch cursor and correct the error.
Extensions
When so desired, you can combine an ABT3 braille display with a speech
synthesizer in order to work with, for example, Windows applications. The ALVA
Keypad and the ALVA Spacepad offer increased user ease and greater screen
overview information. With the ALVA Feelme program, the text from the braille
display can be made visible on a second computer. Sighted people can then follow
exactly what you read on the braille display which facilitates optimal
instruction and guidance.
Flexible
The ABT3 is not dependent on the operating system which you have installed on
your computer. This means that you can use many different applications without
problem and without having to adapt the computer hardware. In combination with
the braille display, you can employ a wide range of graphic screen readers in
addition to the MS DOS screen readers: ALVA's outSPOKEN for Windows, of course,
but also Jaws, Virgo, Protalk, SWB, Visiobraille and SRD/2. Whether you want to
write a letter with Word, make a calculation with Excel or surf the Internet
with Netscape...it can all be done with the ABT3. In short, you have made a
