Is there a way to unload OSW in a batch file?

No, you should unload OSW with the switch ctrl-shift-O, the same command that starts OSW. This is mainly for people who want to exit to DOS and use another screen reader.

I would like to use OSW in DOS applications. How do you do it?

In order for OSW to work in DOS, the check box 'read DOS windows' must be checked in the OS preferences-system dialog box, the 'SAY-ON' feature must be activated (ctrl-KPDenter), and the DOS window has to be normal-sized, not full screen. Please note a known bug: the system will lock trying to start a DOS session with a Dectalk Express.

How do I remove a protection key?

Place the protection disk in the floppy drive. From the run line on the start menu, type 'winmove c: a:' From the > prompt in DOS, you would type 'evmove c: a:'

I just uninstalled OSW, but forgot to uninstall the key. I put it back on the hard drive, but did not reinstall the key. Did I just lose one of my protection keys?

Whether a protection key is lost depends on how outSpoken is reinstalled. If the key is already installed, then the selection should be made to install the key manually. The installer will recognize the key and outSpoken will use that key. If you chose to install the key automatically, the installer will put another key on the hard drive and you will lose a key.

I cannot easily do combinations using shift and control keys.

    Use Microsoft's Sticky Keys.

In Netscape 3.0, is there a keyboard command to skip to the next link?

Use the find feature (KPD1). Once you hit that key, type 'underline', or ctrl-U, and then hit Enter. That will place the cursor at the right of the link. Use the KPD4 key to move directly onto the link and select it with KPD5.

After I installed OSW, I get no speech, only strings of gibberish.

The port settings of the serial device should correspond with Windows' port settings: the baud rate, the parity and the stop bits should match and the handshaking should be set to software.

Is there an inLarge screen magnification program for Windows?

Our inLarge is only for the Mac, but you can get programs like Zoom Text, Magic Screen and VisAbility for Windows.

Is there a Spanish version of OSW?

Yes, version 1.21 is a multilingual version that includes Spanish as well as several European languages.
