SOFTWARE
Powerful enough to fit all cognitive needs from the most basic to the most sophisticated, the e-talk features dynamic screen software that allows a custom communication system to be easily created for nearly any user. Featuring the popular Mayer-Johnson picture symbol system, the dynamic screen software facilitates the creation of communication screens that flow from one to another allowing smooth creation of verbal communication. Pictures can be mixed with text and systems can be created ranging from completely picture based to completely text based or any combination in between.

TEXT-TO- SPEECH
Speech output can be text-to-speech, using either DECtalk^® or any of the many Lernout & Hauspie languages, or high quality digital recordings. The volume is loud. The text-to-speech is outstanding. The recorded sound quality is awesome! This speech device is meant to be heard!

DIGITALLY RECORDED SPEECH
No language barriers. Because you can digitally record anyone's voice (man, woman or child), the e-talk can speak in any language.

DISPLAY
The e-talk has two remarkable displays to choose from. The black and white (monochrome) display is transflective, meaning it can be viewed in the brightest sunlight. For indoor, or nighttime viewing, the monochrome display is backlit by super-bright LED's. The color display features a high-brightness TFT screen with a wide viewing angle.

INPUT METHODS
Input is by touch screen or scanning using either pictures or letters or both. The e-talk touch screen is programmed to accept finger touch. The user does not have to use his fingernail or a tool to get an input. There are jacks for one or two switches and the e-talk can be fully switch operated.

VARIABLE LENGTH MESSAGES
Each key can record a message of any length, whether using synthetic speech (DECtalk^®) or digital recording. People don't speak in 4-second sound bites. Why should the e-talk? The e-talk comes with 32 minutes of digital recording time which can be used to record voice messages or even to record music! And, if 32 minutes isn't enough, additional digital record time can be purchased. Naturally, there is no limit to synthetic speech.

FLEXIBILITY AND EASE OF USE
 

The e-talk is shipped ready to use, with a communication system designed to introduce the feeling of the e-talk. It includes some picture symbol communication pages, some letter based communication pages and access to the more than 3600 Mayer-Johnson picture symbols.

Pages can be created in four key layouts: 2x2, 2x6, 4x6, and 4x8. Key layouts can vary on a page-by- page basis.

BACKUP AND UPGRADING
The e-talk's message library is easily saved to your PC, and software upgrades can be downloaded from the internet to your PC and transferred to the e-talk.

ACCESSORIES
Accessories available for the e-talk include a carrying case, keyguard, switches and a wheelchair mounting system.
