Integrated DyslexiWrite’s reading function
One of Integrated DyslexiWrite’s most important functions is its
ability to read words aloud for you. Integrated DyslexiWrite can
read text aloud in five different ways. For any of the methods, you
can halt the reading by clicking the Stop button. (Note, clicking
Stop will not close Integrated DyslexiWrite itself.)
Choose which method for reading aloud you prefer, either by selecting it from the Read menu or by clicking on one of the shortcut buttons in the reading toolbar.
Read word
Place your cursor anywhere inside a word on your screen and click
Read word to hear that word aloud.
Read sentence
Place your cursor anywhere inside a given sentence and click Read
sentence. Integrated DyslexiWrite will then read the entire sentence
aloud.
Read paragraph
Place your cursor anywhere inside a given paragraph and click Read
paragraph. Universal DyslexiWrite will then read the entire
paragraph aloud. A paragraph in this case is defined as a portion of
text that ends with a “hard” carriage return, that is, the author of
the document has typed either the Return or Enter key.
Read document
When you click Read document, Integrated DyslexiWrite will read your
entire document, from start to finish.
Read from cursor
When you click Read from cursor, Integrated DyslexiWrite will read
your entire document beginning with the word in which you have left
your cursor. If you stop the reading, the cursor will move to
whichever word was read aloud last. The “Read from cursor” function
is especially suited to whenever you’d like to hear large portions
of text out loud.
