In some instances the install process fails to copy the files mfc40.dll and msvcrt.dll to the \windows\system folder. The error "can not find mfc40.dll" or "can not find msvcrt.dll" will be displayed when attempting to run JFW. The conditions which cause the failure have not been identified as of this writing.

The problem can be corrected by obtaining the files from Disk 3 of the JFW 3.0 installation disks. With Disk 3 in the floppy drive perform the following steps from the MS-DOS prompt.

1. cd \windows\system
2. A:\R -U A:\MFCDLL.RED
3. E <enter> <enter>
4. Q
   

Use a dir of the files in the windows\system folder to confirm the copy.
