What is the relationship between LP-Windows and MAGic?

What new features does MAGic 8.0 have that makes it an upgrade for LP Windows users?

·        Mouse Enhancements allow you to add crosshairs or bulls eyes to the mouse to make it easier to locate and track on the screen. You are also able to change the color of the mouse.

·        Improved Smoothing of Text – We have improved the text smoothing form what was in LP Windows to give the user more uniform text smoothing throughout the text characters. We still smooth all colors of text automatically without the user having to declare that a certain color is a text color. Regardless of the color of the text, MAGic 8.0 smoothes it. Extensive work has also been done to give better smoothing of all text in Internet Explorer. This had been an issue in LP Windows.

·        New Graphical User Interface – The new interface of MAGic puts commonly toggled features a mouse click away. You are also able to change the properties of features by right clicking on the button on the interface or through the menu system.

·        New Key Assignments – By making Caps Lock the default control key for MAGic commands, we have freed up the left shift to carry out Windows keystrokes for selecting characters and Words. The majority of the keystroke combinations are the same for LP Windows users except we now use Caps Lock instead of Left Shift. Don’t worry; you can still toggle the Caps Lock state, simply tap Caps Lock twice. You can also have MAGic differentiate between left and right for the alt, shift and control keys.

·        Two New Magnification Views – In addition to Full Screen and Split Screen magnification views available in earlier versions of LP Windows, MAGic 8.0 also includes Lens and Overlay views.

·        New Speech Synthesizer – Eloquence speech has been added to MAGic. This synthesizer is much more responsive than the synthesizer that shipped with LP Windows. In addition to American English, Eloquence includes British English, French, German, Italian, Castilian Spanish, Latin American Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese.

·        Application Specific Functions have been added to consolidate screen information, improve application navigation and eliminate screen clutter in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Internet Explorer.

·        Greater Stability – MAGic 8.0 is a more stable product than LP Windows. It contains support for more video cards on the market today.

·        Panning Quick Advance allows you to quickly move to the beginning of the next line while panning. Simply pressing the return key while panning left to right will move you to the beginning of the next line and continue panning left to right.

·        Panning Direction Change – Once you have started panning, you can change direction by pressing the arrow key in the direction you want to pan. There is no longer a need to stop panning in one direction and then start panning in the new direction.

·        On Line Help – The new MAGic contains extensive on-line help through a comprehensive set of help topics as well as context sensitive help for all user interface controls.

·        Restore Factory Settings allows you to quickly set MAGic back to the original settings you had at install.

·        Network Aware – MAGic 8.0 multi-user versions can be run across a network. You can easily move from to different computers on the network and have your preferred settings already set when you log in and start MAGic.
