Internet Mail Standard Shortcut Keys

You can use shortcut keys to choose commands and navigate through the preview pane and the message list.

In Mail: main window, view message window, and send message window

To Open help topics press F1

To Select All press CTRL+A

In Mail: main window and view message window

To Print the selected message press CTRL+P

To Send and receive mail press CTRL+M

To Delete a message press DEL or CTRL+D

To Open a new message press CTRL+N

To Reply to the author press CTRL+R

To Reply to all press CTRL+SHIFT+R

To Forward a message press CTRL+F

To go to your Inbox press CTRL+I

To go to the next message in the list press CTRL+> or CTRL+SHIFT+> or ALT+RIGHT ARROW

To go to the previous message in the list press CTRL+< or CTRL+SHIFT+< or ALT+LEFT ARROW

To View the properties of the selected message press ALT+ENTER

In Mail main window

To Open the selected message press CTRL+O or ENTER

To Mark a message as read press CTRL+SPACEBAR

To Move between the message list, folder list (if the icon bar is on), and the preview pane press TAB

In Mail message window ó viewing or sending

To Close a message press ESC

To Find text press F3 or CTRL+SHIFT+F

In Mail message window ó sending only

To Check names press CTRL+K or ALT+K

To Check spelling press F7

To Send a message press CTRL+ENTER or ALT+S
