(This is the original version of NatMerge designed for Dragon NaturallySpeaking Deluxe 2.0. If you are using version 3.0 please see NatMerge Utility to Merge DVC Files instead.)
| Here is a utility program called NatMerge. NatMerge is designed to help you add macros to the Deluxe Edition of Dragon NaturallySpeaking by merging a DVC file you supply with the global.dvc file which is built-in to Dragon NaturallySpeaking. |
| You can download it as NatMerge.zip. Extract NatMerge.exe and put it into your c:\NatSpeak\Program directory. You will also need a file called mergedvc.dll which is installed in your c:\NatSpeak\Program directory when you install NaturalWord. (If you are missing this file, visit Dragon's web site and install NaturalWord.) |
| When you run NatMerge, you will see a screen that looks like this: |
| The input file should be a DVC file in the same format as global.dvc (see All About the Global.dvc File). The input file should only have the new commands (in their appropriate menu and state blocks) that you want to add. |
| You can then choose upgrade all users or just one user. You can also optionally update the base dvc file. The base dvc file is the file in c:\NatSpeak\data which is copied into each user's directory when you first add or modify a command. If you modify the base dvc file then any new users created after you run NatMerge will also get your macros. |
| NatMerge will copy all the macros in your input file into your gloval.dvc. If there is already a macro of the same name (for the same application / window caption combination) then the copy in global.dvc will be overwritten with the copy in the input file (unless you indicate that you do not want to overwrite macros of the same name). |
| IMPORTANT: NatMerge was developed at Dragon Systems as an internal utility. The program is (c) Copyright Dragon Systems, 1997-98. There is no support for NatMerge. Use this program at your own risk. NatMerge may not be sold or distributed for commercial purposes. |
