Based on the classic card game, our CONCENTRATE! programs reinforce important language concepts and exercise short-term memory. Children and adults alike will enjoy the challenge of playing CONCENTRATE! independently or in pairs.

Objective:

To exercise short-term memory and reinforce the Vocabulary, Categorization, Word Identification by Function and Word Association skills trained in the Words & Concepts Series

Suggested for:

  • Children and adults with language-learning disabilities, developmental disabilities, physical impairments, and autism
  • Adults with traumatic brain injury and aphasia

Special Macintosh and Windows Features
These versions have two scanning options: linear and step scanning. You can collect all of a student's records from Laureate's programs in one file.

Four language activities
Users look for pictures based on vocabulary, categorization, word function, or word association. For the players, it's all fun and games, but the computer's verbal guidance and informative feedback ensure that individuals are developing important language concepts.

A variety of options
You can choose to have 6, 8, or 12 cards. One player can use a single switch with scanning while another uses the keyboard or a touch screen. Reinforcing animation can be turned on or off.

Classroom inclusion
The CONCENTRATE! games are perfect for fostering cooperative play between individuals with disabilities and their nondisabled peers. These games will provide hours of fun and learning.
