Product Description:
Like all Laureate software, these programs were written by experts who know the needs of
learners with disabilities. High quality speech, colorful graphics, and amusing animation
capture and maintain the learner's attention. Six levels of instruction, a variety of
customization features, and built-in accessibility allow you to tailor lessons for a broad
range of children and adults with unique learning styles.
Special Mac Features
With the Macintosh versions, you can create customized lessons by choosing the specific
words you want to train. In the scanning mode, you can choose between linear and step
scanning. You can collect all of a student's records from Laureate's Mac programs in one
file.

Instructional Levels

On the lowest level, any switch interaction causes the computer to identify the
picture on the screen. |

Introductory Training provides instruction, cuing, and feedback using only one picture
on the screen. |

Initial Training adds a second picture and provides instruction, cuing, and feedback. |

On the Intermediate Training level, instruction and feedback are given but cuing is
faded. |
| 5. |
Advanced Training provides feedback alone. |

The Test level lets you document success! |
 First Words
This program uses colorful pictures, an encouraging voice, and the lovable Blob to
teach and test 50 of the earliest developing nouns within 10 categories. Each noun is
represented by two illustrations.
Vocabulary
 First Words II
After First Words, you'll want First Words II. First Words II continues the training
started by First Words. You'll find the same carefully thought-out design and format as
First Words but a different animated creature, Breaker (he loves to dance), and new
pictures to train 50 more basic nouns. Vocabulary
 First Verbs
Learning verbs is more difficult than learning nouns. This unique program makes verb
training much easier. First Verbs teaches 40 verbs, each represented by two animated
pictures that show the verb action. An encouraging voice offers instruction, and Roggi, an
animated creature, reinforces learning with amusing antics.
