Product Description:
screen shotChildren take a long time to master all the irregular verb forms in English. In fact, many do not attain mastery of irregular verb forms until high school. And even then, some students continue to make past tense and past perfect tense errors. (Example: using bring, brang, brung rather than bring, brought, brought) So it's no wonder that ESL students and those with language learning disabilities have particular trouble with irregular verbs. Consider the following three verb forms and you can see how confusing they can be to your students:

put put put
go went gone
swim swam swum

Over 200 verbs trained
Laureate's new program focuses on high-frequency irregular verbs and trains them in their present, past, and past perfect forms. Four verb training activities are available. The first activity trains 30 early developing verbs using animated pictures. The second offers training on 108 of the most common irregular verbs in a multiple choice format in which both the verb forms and the sentences are read aloud to the student. The third activity is available for all of the 200+ verbs. It trains in a format similar to the second activity, but only the verb forms have a speech option. The last activity requires the students to spell the various irregular verb forms. In all activities, there are teacher choices to set interface, level of difficulty, speech and/or text options, response time, and reinforcement animation.

Verbs are grouped for more effective training.
You have the option to select an individual verb or you can choose from groupings by age of acquisition or linguistic category. For example, in the category grouping, when you choose a verb for training, other verbs with the same form can be trained at the same time. This enables the student to see patterns of verb construction and generalize specific lessons.

The two verb groups below illustrate how verbs can be grouped for more effective training:

blow
know
grow
outgrow
break
choose
freeze
unfreeze

knew
