FACT FOLDER
Read & Write (V8.1) GOLD incorporates a desk research tool to help
you revise or prepare information to write reports. This desk research
tool allows you to capture text from any application, classify it, attach
pictures and bibliography information and record its source. This
information can be converted to a slide show and document to help studying
and revision.
How to Study with Read & Write (V8.1)
GOLD Simply select the text that you wish to collect for your research
and then click the Fact Folder button. This will open the Create a
New Reference panel. Here you can: · Record the category under which
you want to place the information. · Record the author · Attach a
picture A description and the document source will automatically be
added. Any of this information can be read by clicking in the relevant
text and then on the Speak button.

You can continue to add information to the Fact Folder
and classify according to the category or add new ones. When you are
ready to use the collected information select the Prepare to Revise from
the Fact Folder menu:

This will open the Prepare to Revise
panel.

Here you can edit the topics held in each category, move
the topics up or down the list and delete categories. You can create a
document with all the information that you have collected by clicking on
the Create A Document button.

This will open your word processor with all the text,
pictures and details of the sources. You can also create a slide
show by clicking on the View Slide Show button.

Within the slide show you can change the text and
background color and have it spoken.
