textHELP!® Screenreader: Screen Reading

This is the Screen Reading tab. Click here to view the Adjust Voice tab. Click here to view the Characters tab. Click here to view the Pronunciation tab. Click here to view the Hotkeys tab. Click here to view the Speech Balloon tab. Check this box if you want to have the basic text spoken for the currently selected type of screen object. Check this box if you want to have extra information spoken for the currently selected type of screen object. If you do not want ScreenReader to speak text from an individual type of screen object, then you should uncheck the corresponding box.. This area displays information about the type of object which your mouse is currently hovering over. This check box switches automatic screen reading on or off.

 

If you have any of the check boxes above selected, when you move your mouse over that type of object textHELP!® Screenreader will speak the text from it. E.G. If you have got "menus" selected as you open a menu using your mouse or keyboard textHELP!® Screenreader will speak the text from the menu. This is of great help for people who have difficulty while reading the screen.

NB as an automatic default all new features will be set to speak the basic text from the screen object. If you wish to have the extra information about that type of screen object spoken you must check the "Read Extra Information" box for that type of object.
